Easy to book, and the pictures were accurate. It's a cheap stay, but the lounge is a very nice place to sit and have a drink, its not a very extensive range of drinks, but they have most of them covered to keep people happy. The room was clean and tidy and well presented with tea and coffee and shower gel. The bed was comfortable and clean and fresh. The parking garage was well worth the 10 euros for safe keeping of a motorbike and easy to access. The staff were great, I had a problem with a leak from the toilet(clean water). I informed the gentleman on reception, and apologies were given and another room was arranged in minutes, no hassle. It backed on to the train station but you wouldn't have known it as there was very little noise. Breakfast was offered but I didn't know when I would be leaving so didn't get one but it looked like a good range of food. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a budget hotel, its very close to the train station and a 15 minute drive from the ferry port.

I had booked a room for 1 person, with a garage space for my vehicle. I was also offered adding breakfast each morning, that I took. The parkin garage was excellent, great access and monitored. Breakfast was just right, and a hot option was offered. The bar offered a reasonable selection of beer, wine and spirits. I loved the decorative style. All the staff were friendly, polite. helpful and English speaking. Outside, the centre of town was literally a few minutes walk away, with plenty of food and drink options

My second time staying here , great location, near to the ferry port but just a few minutes away from local bars and restaurants and fast food , plus some lovely buildings to photograph, great big free car parking at Hotel , 24 hr reception.

Wonderful hotel where we were welcomed warmly by a professional staff member in reception. He is a real credit to the hotel. Super helpful and passionate about the town, giving us a number of great tips that helped us during our limited time there. Received an upgraded to a suite for our family, which was comfortable and clean for my wife and daughter. Very central location as well close to the train station and an easy walk to the town centre and beach. If we are ever back in the region we will be staying at the Metropol again.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough. The location is fantastic, right beside the town railway station and bus station- but you don’t hear the trains throughout the night! It’s a cosy, traditional hotel with everything you need. I stayed in a single room which had a double bed, tv, bath/shower and fast WiFi. It was spotlessly clean and I slept like a log. The lady who checked me in spoke perfect English and was helpful and friendly. There is a bar too which I used and got a nice pint of Jupiler. I visit Calais often enough and won’t hesitate to stay here again too. The price is extremely reasonable and great value for money.

The friendly staff was helpful and i was particularly happy they spoke english very well. My french language skills are poor and communicating in english makes things so much easier. The room and bathroom were clean and the beds were good. I slept very well. The hotel is good enough for a one night stay. Hotel's location is good too. Little to no city noise. Note to motorcycle riders: Metropol hotel has a very spacious and closed garage to park your motorcycle safely. But keep in mind, you need to order parking lot separately. Metropol charges a small fee for the parking, but hey your motorcycle is worth it.

Lovely and helpful Staff, and 24h reception. As always, kettle in the room and an option to use the private garage are for me the main sale. As are comfortable and clean beds. Also this time only a single room was available and that simply meant a double bed in much smaller room which was a nice surprise. For an overnight stay legroom is not all that important for me 🙃

Welcoming, helpful, friendly staff, clean, comfortable bed. Some obvious updating of the bathroom which was clean and had a good shower. I didn't eat at the hotel as I had to leave at 07.00 and I didn't feel ready for breakfast so early but the dining room looked very welcoming and well-presented. Indoor, private garage which I had booked in advance

Stayed here a few times before off the ferry, great value for money. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic but very comfortable, clean and all you really need. Nice beers at the bar and the breakfast is superb with plenty of choice. Short walk into Calais for bars and restaurants. The secure parking is great, especially for motorcyclists. Many thanks.

Great little hotel a stones throw from the local bars and restaurants as well as the port. It's quaint and not the Ritz, but that just adds to the charm I think. The rooms are clean and there is a secure garage which is great for motorcyclists. Friendly staff and a well stocked bar area. Didn't have breakfast on this occasion due to ferry times, but have stayed here before and it was a shame to have missed it. Many thanks.
