Location, close to all amenities. Close to the train station and the bus for the P&O Ferry was right there. The most amazing thing was the staff. Our host at reception (never got her name) was so helpful. When we asked about something she went out of her way to take the time to help. We asked about finding a laundromat, she quickly phoned around and called the proprietor and got us all the info we needed. The morning we left she had printed off all the Ferry and bus info we had inquired the day before. Can't ask for anything better!

Lovely old hotel with beautiful features - wood panelling in the reception, lounge and dining room. Comfy leather lounges in the reception and lounge area to read a book or newspaper. Buffet breakfast - range of cereals, breads, small danishes, hot breakfast made to order, ours was a tasty omelette and bacon. Lift to each floor. Clean, comfortable bedroom, room to walk around the bed and areas for luggage, warm quilt. Modern small bathroom with a shower. 5 minute easy walk to the train station. Buses nearby.

The location of this hotel, minutes from the station - which could take you anywhere in France - was perfect. Restaurants, cafes, shops, tourist attractions, the beautiful Calais beach - were also within walking distance. The staff at reception were welcoming and knowledgeable. I worried about my poor grasp of French, but they kindly spoke to me in English. I couldn't fault this hotel and would love to return.

The hotel is close to the train and bus stations but also has free off street parking It's about 5 minute walk to the street that leads to the beach with all its restaurants and shops. The beach on a sunny day is beautiful and that's what we had The hotel is a little dated and rather dark but it's clean and comfortable and everything works and it's reasonably priced so nothing to complain about.

A traditional hotel with beautiful old style furniture. We were slightly worried by some opinions from previous travellers, especially about bathroom size, but were pleasantly surprised by the a nice comfy room for three as we were travelling as a family with dog. the staff was so friendly and we enjoyed relaxing with a drink in the cosy bar downstairs.
